Mountaineer Home Culinary

About

My name is Gabrielle Dumire. I'm the sole owner and chef of Mountaineer Home Culinary.

I started cooking at a young age. When I was around eleven or twelve, my dad invited over the neighbors for a meal. We made fried chicken. It wasn't particularly fancy or elaborate. It was my first time making food for other people aside from helping cook for the family, and something about seeing others feel good about what I made me feel accomplished. While it wasn't my original plan, I began working in restaurants as an adult part-time. My passion for cooking only blossomed, but I felt limited by the restaurant environment: restricted to cooking a specific menu, following exact recipes focused on efficiency and broad appeal, and limited creativity and interaction with the people enjoying the food.

I decided to pursue being a personal chef because I believe good food is important. In today's world, food is an afterthought. Many are too busy to cook a meal every night, especially when working long hours or trying to take care of a family, not to mention the time it takes to learn the skills in the first place. Restaurants require waiting and relying on a team of people to be in a good mood, and it isn't a guarantee that they will offer something you're in the mood for. Plus, we've all had the tense argument in the car about where we'll be eating while everyone is already starving and upset!

I aim to provide whole meals with fresh, hand-selected ingredients, prepared the way my clients want, whether they're adventurous, prefer safe, consistent meals, or they have specific diets that are hard to accommodate. To find out how I can make meals for you, check out the How it Works page!
